We offer private, BEGINNER riding lessons for children over the age of five at the cost of $50/hour. Though lessons are one hour long, this does not mean one full hour of “saddle time.” Riders are not only taught how to ride, but are taught how to properly care for the horse, including grooming, tacking up, cooling down, and possibly feeding or cleaning stalls.
The riding discipline can vary (English vs. Western), but the objective remains the same…. to learn to LOVE horses, and ENJOY the experience! Lessons are go-at-your-own-pace, advancing only when the child is ready. If your child is interested in going to fancy, rated horse shows, or being extremely competitive, I can refer you to trainers that will better fit your needs. But, if your child enjoys being around horses, wants to learn a new activity, and might want to ride in a fun County Horse Show for a ribbon, then please e-mail me to discuss a lesson schedule that works for you. Riding helmets or properly fitting bike helmets must be worn while riding and a Hold Harmless Release form must be signed by an adult.
We do not have an indoor arena, so unfortunately, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Inclement weather will cause lessons to be cancelled or re-scheduled. Email us for weekday & weekend availability.
